One thing that we feel passionately about on ideyna, is telling you the stories of our crafters. There is so much skill, dedication, hard work and history that go into making a unique handmade item, that we wanted to capture a part of this fascinating process and show it to you.
We are pretty thrilled with our first crafter’s story video. It is filmed with one of our favourite crafters – Minakshi Nagu from Ragmatazz.
Minakshi Nagu, who comes from Kashmir in India, has made the UAE her home for more than 30 years. She gave up a high-flying magazine publishing job to take up creating her beautiful embroidered bags and thankfully for all of us who own a Ragmatazz bag, has never looked back.
She tells us that Ragmatazz finds inspiration from folk art and tribal embroidery all over the world. And in that spirit of going back to our roots, the brand is very consciously environmentally friendly – they don’t use leather or silk of any kind and try to be as animal friendly as possible.
We love the values that Ragmatazz firmly stands behind and we love that we discovered another reason for the brand’s success – Ragmatazz works because it is a united family effort. Watch the video to see what we mean.
Ragmatazz sells their wonderful bags in their very own ideyna shop here.
